2012 CHEVROLET CAMARO ZL1 SUPERCHARGED
I started looking for the, very hard to come buy, 580HP Camaro ZL1 in the beginning of June. I contacted every Chevrolet dealership in Edmonton Alberta to discuss the possibility of buying this model. This proved to be hopeless as the dealerships had every available ZL1 spoken for and ordering one through them directly from the factory still did not guarantee I would get one. They didnt even have one on the lot to look at or test drive. I then decided to search the US, hoping that the larger market would make it easy for me to find what I needed. the logical step, I thought, would be to contact several Chevrolet dealerships and hope they had a new one I could purchase. To make matters worse, each one of the dealerships in the states informed me that GM would not allow them to sell "new" GM vehicles for import into Canada. However, if I could find a used one somewhere, there were no restrictions on importing this vehicle into Canada. In a last attempt to find the car of my dreams, I searched for used ZL1's. After performing several searches on the internet, I stumbled onto Blueline Motors. They were one of the only used car dealerships throughout the entire US that had the ZL1. There were less than 5 listed that I could find in all of the US. If you're a Canadian looking for a vehicle, most of us know that we can save thousands if we buy the vehicle from the states.
So I called Blueline Motors and got ahold of Robert Welch. Robert was very helpful with my questions about the vehicle's history, and condition. Robert Had the car I had been looking for and was struggling to get into my hands. Being that I had never purchased a vehicle sight unseen (other than Photos) nor had I ever imported a vehicle from the states, I was nervous to say the least. We spoke several times over the phone, and each time, Robert put my fears at ease. He worked to find me a shipping company that would deliver my car to me almost 4000 Km away, he sent additional photos at my request, and was in constant contact with me as we finalized the deal. Robert even took time from his vacation during the summer to answer my questions. He was always available and very willing to take care of my concerns. I know I must have had some rookie questions for him but he NEVER made me feel like I was being a bother. In fact, he was always incredibly helpful. There was paperwork which Robert had to FedEx overnight and pay out of pocket to get to me. This may seem insignificant but I respect the fact that Robert didn't try and nickle and dime me to death by making me pay for his FedEx charges like I know other dealerships would.
Even more significantly, Robert paid to have the car detailed before the shipping company came to pick it up. He even sent me some final photos showing me the car's immaculate condition before it left his lot. I definitely appreciated that extra care.
The car was shipped directly to my door in Sherwood Park Alberta, a suberb of Edmonton, I was like a kid in a candy store. I had a vehicle everyone told me I would have an impossible time getting ahold of. Robert made it easy for me and delivered a beautiful car I would not have been able to get without him.
I'm pretty sure this won't be the last car that I buy, so when I look for the next one, I'll be calling Robert first to see if he can find me what I'm looking for. I think the biggest fear in making a long distance purchase is finding a seller you can trust. When you do find a dealer you can trust, you're more inclined to continue dealing with that person so I know that's what I'll be doing. Robert has some beautiful cars on his lot so finding something shouldn't be a problem. If you're a Canadian looking in the states for a vehicle, I Know you would be relieved dealing with Robert. You just have to call and speak to him.

2011 BMW 335is CONVERTIBLE
About 3 years ago ( 2009 ) I sold my Acura MDX to Robert Welch. He purchased it for a client of his, and everything about the transaction went very smooth. Even though I was a initially a little apprehensive about handing my car over to a stranger that lives 4 hours away; once I met Robert in person I could tell I had nothing to worry about.
Fast forward several years. In July of 2012 I was looking for a new( ish ) car. I found a black over red 2011 BMW 335is convertible on cars.com that caught my eye because it appeared to be in excellent condition and it had very low miles. I sent the seller an email inquiring about the condition of the car, and I got a quick response back. It was from Robert. I was pleasantly surprised that he remembered me right away. I was pretty psyched that I knew I had someone I could trust as I live 4 hours away.
Robert told me the car was in excellent condition ( practically brand new ) and so I decided I had to go for it. My nephew and I drove up the following day, and Robert was definitely not stretching the truth…this car was gorgeous inside and out and it was for all intents and purposes BRAND NEW. I left there a happy camper and I am loving my car and the fact that Robert has such high standards for the vehicles that he works with.
A couple of things that stand out:
Blueline Motors is a really nice facility. Robert gave me a tour and it was like being a kid at a candy store looking at all of the beautiful cars that he has. They are all immaculately detailed AND most were garage kept not sitting out in a lot getting beat up by the weather.
Steve, his detail guy did an amazing job of prepping the car. Robert nor Steve didn't have to go to the extra effort that they did as I had no expectations other than it would maybe be washed and vacuumed. After the test drive Steve even came out and wiped off any fingerprints that were left on the car!
Robert had a full tank of gas in the car for my trip home. He took the time to show me how the navigation, convertible top, and several other items worked.
I received my title and tags very quickly ( about a week ), and everything was smooth from start to finish. My only regret is that I didn't have more time to hang around and chat. Robert is a great guy and it is energizing to see how much he loves the business he is in and how committed he is to delivering a great experience – not just selling a car.
I would recommend Robert and Blueline Motors to anyone looking for a great car at a great price. As a matter of fact I literally referred him to someone on my drive home!

I would like to share my experience with Blue Line Motors, in hopes to help you finalize your decision to hire Robert to negotiate your auto purchase. In less than a week I had the van of my dreams, $100/month under budget, thanks to Robert at Blue Line Motors! Here’s how it happened:
About a year ago, my parents were looking for a Jeep Wrangler. My brother found several online, the best offer being from Blue Line Motors. They bought that Jeep in an uneventful transaction and they drive it everywhere they go!
In the meantime, I’m struggling with “soccer mom syndrome,” driving my 7 year old son and his friends to playdates, with a baby brother, stroller, bikes, etc. in a Toyota Camry. I usually ended up with the bike in the trunk, the stroller in the passenger seat, and the kids (elbow to elbow) in booster seats in the back. One day I decided it was crazy for me to rearrange the furniture in the car every weekend, so I decided to pursue the Honda Odyssey I’ve wanted for 12 years!
My Camry was less than beautiful and approaching 100k miles. I was worried about how I was going to get enough for a down payment on a van. I didn’t want to pay for an ad in the newspaper, and I didn’t trust the people who might call from Craig’s List, so I asked the most resourceful person I know for advice - my brother. His only suggestion was to call Blue Line Motors based on the previous Jeep buying experience that my parents had.
Robert told me he would buy my Camry, and match the quote that I got from Carmax. He said he would find me the most awesome deal on an Odyssey. All I wanted was the new body style with a rear entertainment center, which meant a 2011 or 2012. I prepared myself for a used 2011 based on my budget and the value of my trade.
Robert would call me during his treasure hunt for my van and say, “I have good news…… and it gets better! Now is the time to get excited!” I was trying to stay realistic about what I could afford. I kept waiting for that “it’s too good to be true” moment. But it never came. It WAS good, and it WAS true.
I went about my daily routine until he called to tell me that he had negotiated a deal with a Honda dealer. I was to bring him my Camry, which he paid me cash for, and then go straight to the Honda dealer. I received VIP treatment at the dealership when I arrived. There were 2 vans parked out front upon my arrival, and my only decision was which color to choose. I drove off the lot with a NEW 2012 Honda Odyssey EX-L with only 5 miles on the odometer! Robert will only settle for the best – he sets his standards high and has fun meeting the challenge of finding an awesome, unheard of deal!
The best part was that he saved me $3800 off the MSRP, which came in at $100/month under my budget! Robert respected my time and my finances. He was genuinely excited to help me get a van that exceeded my expectations. He explained that buying a new van with a lower interest rate would amount to the same monthly payment as a used van with a higher interest rate. He also gave me advice on how much to put down, and how to understand the options that would be presented to me in the finance office at the Honda dealer. I went in there prepared and sure of what I wanted.I have had my Odyssey for 3 months now, and it feels like “home.” I find myself wondering how I ever lived without it. I have told all my friends about my experience, and all they can say is “wow!” Robert is one of a kind. He will feel like an instant friend, and I want you to call him. You’ll be glad you did! (WHO SAYS THAT ABOUT A CAR SALESMAN??)
I just want to thank you for everything that you did to make my purchase of my dream Mini a fantastic experience. You prove that buying a car need not be a painful or unpleasant experience. Indeed it can be fun and exciting; something to look forward to!
If I had to sum up the customer experience in one word, it would have to be "respect." Robert, from the very beginning, treated me like a good friend who just so happened to be looking for a car. And it was not the smarmy "friendship" one would get from your stereotypical car salesman. It was the kindness of a genuinely nice guy selling something that he truly loves in a way that he passionately believes in. Robert told me that he only buys cars that he himself would be happy owning, and it shows. He is very selective in what he offers for sale, he obviously loves each and every car in his inventory, knows its entire history, and that love is amply demonstrated in the care those vehicles receive while temporarily under his wing.
Robert builds up a customer base in the most fantastic way. It is not because of the lowest prices, though he does have those. It is not because he has the best cars, though he has those as well. It is because once you have gone through the process with Robert, there is no way that you could ever settle for the "other way" ever again. He raises the bar so high, there just aren't any competitors.
It would be impossible to recount all of the ways in which Robert went above and beyond expectations to make everything about the car purchase perfect. From delaying his vacation to show me the car the first time, to assisting me in selling my old car, to placing four brand new tires on the car, to helping me find the best deal in an extended warranty, to taking care of the titling and registration, to contacting me a month after the car was sold to see if I could use a spare Mini part he came across, he continued to provide top notch service even after the deal was closed. His lovely wife even went so far as to drop off my new license plates and registration (as well as some sunglasses accidentally left in my old car) at my front door!
I can (and will, to everyone I know) without any reservations recommend buying a car from Robert. Even if he does not have what you are looking for, call him and see if he can help you find what you want. I have yet to find the limits of what he will do for his customers/friends.
As other customers have noted, you've somewhat amazingly made car buying the pleasure it should be. I’ve almost always bought new, despite the immediate depreciation, because of the uncertainty about a used car’s history and condition. As you know, I examined our Mini Cooper with a fine tooth comb (and your flashlight) when we came to pick it up, and several things emerged: the car is literally in perfect condition, it is exactly as represented on your site and in our discussions, and you are genuinely interested in doing the right thing by your customers.
Dealing with you simply took the worry out of buying a used car, a transaction that is usually and inherently fraught with uncertainty. We woke the next day feeling a bit crazy and impulsive but completely comfortable that we bought a great car.
Our Mini Mayfair is happily at home, my wife is ecstatic to be back in her favorite marque (after sadly selling her beloved mellow yellow Cooper S two years ago), and even the insurance came in lower than we expected. I’ve been obsessively polishing our new baby, which has displaced my A8 (at least for a little while) in the garage.
In sum, everything about this experience was positive, and I suspect you’ve permanently cured us of our expensive new car habit in favor of Blue Line Motors. Thanks again.

2010 Audi R8 4.2 FSI QUATTRO MT6 COUPE
I first started thinking about a new car back in 2010. I wanted a fun car to drive, one that was a little “different” and one that was a head turner. It wasn’t until late November that I had decided on buying a “used” Audi R8. Then it took me another month to refine my search to an Ibis White R8, with a black interior, a V8 engine with a manual transmission. Not much to ask for. Yea, right…. As I live in Southern California, I started looking locally. I just couldn’t find what “one” car I wanted to spend my kid’s inherence on. Most of the Audi R8’s I found that worked for me were on the east coast, mostly in Florida. I thought man, that’s a long way from California.
It was mid January when I first found "the car" on the Internet, in a small town in Virginia. It was Blue Line Motors in Leesburg, Virginia to be exact. The car had every option I was looking for and more. I was still very apprehensive about buying a car this expensive, 2300 miles from home, and from someone I’d never met. This is when I first contacted Robert Welch at Blue Line Motors. We e-mailed each other back and forth for a few days before I finally called him. Just something about Robert, the way he talked, the sincerity in his voice, you just couldn’t help but like the man. I found him very knowledgeable, very articulate and a genuine person. A few days later found me landing at Dulles International and heading toward the Hilton Garden Inn where I would spend the next two nights. Signing the paperwork took about 15 minutes sitting in the hotel lobby. That night we went to dinner and just talked about stuff. Seriously, I can’t remember when I have met a more likeable, professional and sincere person as Robert Welch. Arrangements were made through Robert and a local transporter to ship my new Audi to California. The R8 arrived in a covered trailer the day before my first grandson. Two babies in two days, what more could I have asked for!
I’ve purchased a lot of vehicles in my life but I can’t remember one car purchase I really enjoyed. Until now, that is. It was just a really nice experience. In hindsight, had I taken Robert for his word to begin with, I could have saved myself $550 in airfare. But then, I never would have had the opportunity to meet Robert.

I had visited a few dealers and done some research on line when I came across a car on Craig’s list that Robert had in his inventory. I drive Land Rovers. Period. And I’m a Discovery fanatic. No other automobile will work. But my car went out of production in 2004! I drove my ’99 until it fell apart – literally! I used every possible search engine and listing service known to humankind and I simply could not find what I wanted. My husband had a dream. He wanted a Big Dodge HEMI. He wanted it to be Silver, a 1500 Laramie, low miles…and for a deal. He wanted the moon! We researched for a while but couldn’t find “it” and then decided to do upgrades around the house instead. Then the 2010 Blizzards hit and our Explorer 4WD died. 2002 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06
I researched the ZO6 Corvette for a year on the internet and locally. In December 2009 I saw Robert’s Blue Line Motors listing. It was just what I wanted and more, however it was in Virginia and I’m in Connecticut. I spoke to Robert on the phone for quite a while. We connected right away. He was incredibly professional and his knowledge of his business and the car I was interested in was superb. The 30 plus photos and description of the vehicle on his website proved to be unbelievably accurate. We had several great phone conversations thereafter. A few days past and there I was on a train to Virginia to purchase the ZO6 sight unseen. As my sister in law and I drove up to meet Robert and look at the car, I was blown away – a “wow factor” I wasn’t anticipating. I purchased the car at this time. My great first time car buying experience. It was a Sunday night in-between Football games. I did a quick search on 2004 Land Rover Discovery. First link was Blue Line Motors. Bam! 2007 LEXUS GX470
We had decided on the car we wanted, price we wanted to pay, exterior/interior colors and options we wanted in the car. We also told Robert we wanted all of this before we went away on vacation in less than 10 days. We had been looking on the internet too and were having a very difficult time finding what we wanted. It seems a silver Lexus GX 470 with black interior, DVD system, navigation and a Mark Levinson sound system is relatively difficult to find. Robert found one within several days, negotiated the price we wanted to pay and found out answers to questions we never thought of asking before it would have been too late. So Robert finds the car in Orlando, hops on a flight, drives for two days and delivers the car to our driveway and then will filled out 20 minutes of paperwork. I will never buy a car from anyone else whether it is new or pre owned. He gets the best price from dealers and individuals. The best part is I wasn’t stuck in a dealership for 6 hours.
